LANScape Network Utility

A portable, zero-installation network security and diagnostic utility designed to map subnets, identify hardware bottlenecks, and triage local vulnerabilities entirely from a USB drive.

In Development (Coming Soon)
🚧 Project Status: Active Engineering LANScape is currently in active development. Check back soon for the initial v1.0.0 release block, hash verifications, and standalone executable downloads.

Planned Core Capabilities

Network Mapping & Radar

Multi-Layer Scanner

Evaluates both the Host OS (verifying firewall statuses and open network shares) and the Router level (scanning for UPnP external network exposures).

Layer 2 Device Radar

Scans the local subnet for active devices, querying MAC addresses against an onboard OUI database to identify hardware vendors. Intelligently groups multiple services (like a NAS) under a single IP entity.

Vulnerability Triage

IoT Password Kicker

Tests identified web login pages against a small, highly targeted list of common default credentials (e.g., admin/admin, root/root) to flag exposed hardware without triggering account lockouts.

Open Port Diagnostics

Actively queries detected IP entities for standard exposed ports (80, 443, 22, 3389) to map potential local attack vectors and unencrypted web servers.

Performance & Multicast

Bad Cable Detector

Intelligently compares the host machine's physical NIC link speed against an active WAN speed test to identify hardware bottlenecks and failing ethernet cables.

Broadcast Catcher

Silently listens to mDNS and UPnP multicast traffic across the subnet to instantly detect and catalog casting devices, smart speakers, and background media servers.

Architecture & Reporting

History & "Diff" Reporting

Saves network state snapshots locally as JSON data, allowing the engine to track network changes ("diffs") over time and export highly styled, print-ready PDF "Network Health Reports."

Zero-Install USB Architecture

Leaves zero footprint. The executable writes nothing to the host PC's registry, requiring no installer and saving all local data safely to the executing directory.
